We have 11+ (nearly 12) foot ceilings. I forget the precise height of our cabs, but we are doing stacked uppers. Bottom cabinet with solid door, upper cabinet with glass doors. We also are putting in a coffered ceiling, to bring the height of the ceiling closer to the top of the cabinets without bringing the ceiling down. I would love to have gone all the way to the ceiling with the cabinets, and maybe put in a library ladder type thing, but it was just too expensive, and we don't really have room for a library ladder!

If anyone else would like to give their opinions, speak up, I've got to make this decision like TODAY! Ack!

Have you seen mrslimestone's kitchen? I love how her cabs go up to the ceiling (link below), but her ceiling height might be only 10'. Another nice look is having the cabinets go up to 96" then have a shelf run around the perimeter of the kitchen above them, like this:

Someone else posted a picture of their wall cabinets, which were 60" tall, with 11' ceilings and they looked really nice too. I haven't seen any examples, though, of staggered cabinets when the ceilings are that high.

We have 11 foot ceilings and used 18" stacked cabs on 42" uppers. We also staggered the heights. Our hood wall the tallest section goes to the ceiling to conceal the hood vent pipes. On our other wall we have a hutch look that doesn't quite go to the ceiling.
