RECIPE: Looking for: Spaghetti Al Capone

Posted by belgedin (My Page) on

Hi there, I've been looking all over for a recipe I used to have. It is for a dish called "Spaghetti Al Capone" and was purportedly one of Capone's favorite dishes(I never cared to find whether this was true or not.)

I remember the essential ingredients, but not all that went into it.

The primary ingredients are:

Roma Tomatoes
Nutmeg (a significant amount)
Red Bell Peppers

Does anyone find the name and ingredients familiar to them?

Thanks very much!

Michael.

I was trying to do a "LOOKING for:" headline, but it went up as a RECIPE, which I took to mean I'd be giving out the recipe.

I'd love to give it out, if only I knew it ;)

So far, I've had no luck finding it but I haven't given up yet.

The only red spaghetti sauce recipes I remember making with nutmeg were Bolognese sauces but they had a little bit (like 1/4 lb.) of finely chopped chicken livers in addition to ground beef or sausage and usually some white wine too. Did yours?

Sadly, no. This Recipe didn't have any meats in it all, actually.
