Not sure what Falling Water backsplash is exactly but our backsplash looks a bit like Karlau's only we have 2"x2" glass inserts staggered throughout. I designed in a 'water fall' look for the transition between kitchen and dining area.

Because the under cab lights are on in the photo, the backsplash looks a little warmer than it actually is. Here is what it looks like on the tile maker's brochure cover which is truer to the color.

The tile is by a California tile designer named Jeffrey Court. It is called Pietra Opus Quartz Brick Fire & Ice.

Jodi, your backsplash is wonderful. Tell me about cleaning the part behind your range. It's sealed? How is cleaning grease splatters or tomato sauce -- any issues?

Who has the really cool modern kitchen with the vertically placed glass tiles that look like water? She had them on the whole wall behind the range up to the ceiling, and I think either slab or simple shaker doors in a medium tone. She first posted in the fall I think, with pics, then gave a more complete photoalbum about 2 months ago? I think her screen name had something to to with a cat? Am I on crack?

I think I know exactly what you are talking about. The tile is from Artistic Glass and I too am thinking about using it as well. I assume it is pretty pricy. Here is a link that I hope will work.

Yes, that's our kitchen as kk just pointed out with the very special intro! The tile is pricey, but luckily for me, we found it AFTER finding much pricier tile that we really liked for the splash, so it seemed reasonable by comparison! Also, DH really loved it too, which in our household, goes a long way towards his saying, "get that one!"

I can't really tell you how the backsplash will fare with the likes of grease or tomato sauce as the kitchen has only been done a couple months and we haven't done much cooking yet.

It was sealed however and we were told by the installer that it should hold up quite well to normal kitchen grime.
