Kitchen Island material: Granite or Quartz

We already installed Quartz countertops "Creama Botticino" and now I need to decide on a kitchen island surface. My cabinets are white, but my island base is a dark/reddish wood. Actually, the island is a large piece of furniture that came out of a department store (used to be a large display for shirts and ties). My original thought was to stick with the Creama Botticino quartz but now I am thinking of maybe a honed granite. The more I think the more confused I get. BTW, I have 3 kids.

If you haven't already, I suggest posting this on the "Discussions" side of Kitchens. This is the "Conversations" side that's for off-topic, general conversation types of topics. The Discussions side of Kitchens is for on-topic discussions concerning kitchen remodels. You will most likely get many more responses over there.
