Sound Problems on Some Sites

All of a sudden, I have no sound on some sites (YouTube is one of them), but do have it on other sites. What could the problem be? All of my connections are fine, I don't know anything else to trouble-shoot the problem. I'm running Windows XP.

check you volume controls. I lost the sound on youtube and some how my volume control had been muted

Just curious, when you say "some sites (YouTube is one of them)", which other sites are you also having volume problems on?

Novice, I won't doubt your readings if you trust the measuring tool to be even somewhat accurate. But, for your particular lawn I suggest before you put too much of one thing...(sulphur) onto your ground you get a proper test done by your local extension service. It will be either out of a local college or university or through a state government facility. In any case, a proper reading should be gotten before doing anything drastic. You wouldn't want to change overnight your pH anyway...that could lead to problems. Dumping garden sulfur onto your lawn can adversely affect it practically overnight. Lawn fertilizer with a high nitrogen content can change your pH over time.....hence the reason many gardeners throw lime onto their lawns in ths spring. A little lime cannot change abruptly the pH....but can lessen to an extent the damage that too much lawn fertilizer does with its high nitrogen content. As long as lime is not spread in large amounts it can help bring up the pH. If you do decide to get a proper test done, do read about what is necessary to take the proper sampling. If you have evergreen trees on your property, they can influence the pH. So while you may test your lawn as being alkaline, the area around your trees might well be very acidic. So the question arises how to get a balancing of the readings. A proper test that tells you what to add where and how much can do your lawn a big service.

Guilty to all of the above and many more. Have been known to take a couple of seed pods from plants I've seen in shopping center medians or the parks. I just figured I had RESCUED a few seeds that needed to be transplanted somewhere else. (Like my place) LOL I have even dug tulips up that were in a bar ditch. They are the ones that multiply like crazy and come back year after year. There use to be an old farm house there and now it's just an empty pasture and the tulips take up about 5 acres. Of course when the maintainers (big heavy road equipmnet) come in and grade the road several times a year they throw a ton of dirt on them. They are at least a ft deep in dirt on the side of the road now. I really should go dig some again next spring so I can have some at this house. LOL I've also called real estate people and ask if I can harvest seeds from houses I see for sale or rent that might have a flower or something I'm interested in. LOL Yelp, we're all addicts but I'd rather be a flower/garden/plant addict than any other kind. However when your not working and can't even afford to send postage to others for plant swaps it's not good. You suffer from empty mailbox syndrome. Happy Gardening all you Addicts and Enablers! This is 'normal' in the sense that the seals get cold enough for condensation to form on them. Some fridges have a switch that you turn on which runs a small current through the seals to warm them and keep the condensation down. I haven't looked for this on newer units since I bet it isn't EnergyStar compliant. On mine it is called 'MOISTURE REDUCTION'.

Hi Sandra, Good information, #2 and #5 being the most important. In addition to # 2 telling us that Cardinal is the glass company, #5 tells us that Windsor made their own IGU's, since Cardinal doesn't use superspacer. You have Cardinal Glass in your doors that was put together into an IGU by Windsor. But we don't know for sure who tempered the glass, and frankly it doesn't really matter since you need it fixed no matter who did it. The supplier needs to chat with the window company and let them know that you still have belly haze and you feel that the glass is not acceptable. Either they need to fix it to your satisfaction (it can be fixed, it's actually pretty easy to do), or replaced with acceptable glass. For a bit more background, belly haze consists of microscopic scratches that occur as the glass rides ceramic rollers in the tempering furnace. During the tempering process the glass isn't laying nice and flat, it's actually changing shape and moving quite a bit. Belly haze occurs when the glass is concave (middle down, edges up) to the rollers and the weight of the glass sheet in the center is riding the rollers. If detected, belly haze can be eliminated by adjusting the settings on the tempering line, but it can be very difficult to detect in a factory setting. Unfortunately it does show up quite well in full sunlight. I am not sure what you were seeing as cloudiness (separate from belly haze), in your original post. LoE-366 will darken your glass a bit compared with clear glass, but haze and clarity parameters for all Cardinal coatings are very good and they should never give a cloudy appearance.

I tried to watch a video of a product on the Williams Sonoma website, and that video had no sound either. But I occasionally play Mah Jong on another website, and that sound works perfectly. So sound is working on some sites, but not on others.

What browser are you using?

Have you tried another browser to view the troubled sites?

I've been trying to find a video on http://www.williams-sonoma.com/ so I can see if it happens to an embedded Youtube video... but I must be blind, I can't find a one. :)

But they do seem to make use of Youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0leeHDIvNgM) so I wouldn't be surprised if they host them on Youtube and simply embed them on their own site. If that's the case, I would suspect the embedded videos would suffer the same Youtube problem I quoted above.

Have you tried un-muting the video? {{gwi:1502213}}

They start out silent/muted for me too, I have to hover over the video and click the volume slider to give it some volume every time I visit Youtube. And will have to until they fix it.

Edit: Finally got my eyes to cooperate long enough to find one. :)
