I am a regular on the cooking forum, but Shambo suggested I post this here. The link will take you to my post on how to make ensure ice cream. It makes it so much more palatable.

Instead of Ensure, switch to Boost. Lactose free and lower in sodium than Ensure, it also tastes a LOT better! The chocolate really does taste like good chocolate milk.

RE: Ensure ice cream

Jo, thanks for posting. I agree with Jkom that there might be better tasting liquid drinks out there. But the concept remains the same. And I imagine that sometimes having the mouth feel of more solid food might be a great benefit for our elderly loved ones. I know my mom did not care for shakes, malts, and liquidy things. But she still enjoyed ice cream to the end. She was in a memory care unit and knew that Ensure was for sick people. But ice cream, on the other hand, was for everybody!
