Hey TAMARA--The COOKING FORUM ISN"T SEARCH-ABLE!

Ellen, you need to include "garden web" in your search string.

Yes, I did that too. It wasn't successful. Thanks anyway. We still need a regular search function. The Houzz mobile home page search doesn't find the CF either.

So this must be a problem strictly on mobile devices, because I can do a Google search on my MacBook and a lot of threads pop up, including this one.

It also works in the Search bar at the top of the cooking forum page.

Tamara, it was not searchable during my market run at Trader Joe's. I'm often trying to access the site on a mobile platform from my iPad or iPhone.

The way I found "around the problem" was to search on google using GardenWeb "raspberry chocolate ice cream ann_t" when I had the same issue the other day. It did work that way?

Are you trying to search via the Houzz app? When you said you clicked on the 'bookmarked link' - was that through a browser? Can you give me some clarification as to how you were searching?

Tamara- thanks for responding! I find the HOUZZ app completely useless. It doesn't work on my iPhone at all.

Rob--Thanks for the tip. I'm sure you will agree that a big organization like Houzz should be able to have a better search function than including Ann's login name in the search title. Googling 3 Ingredient Ice Cream + Houzz and Cooking Forum and GardenWeb didn't work. If we could search for a recipe when iVillage had the reins, I know that Houzz can program a better search engine or easier links to the CF than what's in place right now.

Ellen - Are you pulling up the app to do your searching or are you going in through the mobile browser? Currently, the app is not set up to include the GW forums, but it's on the to-do list. So, I would suggest using your mobile browser and making sure that you bookmark http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/cooking . Once you are in the forum you can tap the 'advice' heading once you've typed in your search. I did notice the glitch that doesn't allow the search only in the Cooking forum, like it does on regular devices and tablets, so I have reported that. But, in the meantime, when I typed in '3 ingredient ice cream recipe', it did pull up the post you were hunting as one of the top results.

If you do search the forum a lot from your phone, you might want to use this workaround in the meantime. If you bookmark this url on your phone - http://www.gardenweb.com/gardenweb/query/chicken-soup/topic=cooking - you can replace the words 'chicken-soup' with whatever you want your search term to be and it will pull up everything from just the Cooking forum. So, your ice cream query could look like this: http://www.gardenweb.com/gardenweb/query/3-ingredient-ice-cream-recipe/topic=cooking
