| Any advice for choosing the best wood species, such as maple or alder, for painted kitchens cabinets? |

| Pricewise, poplar is just fine for painted cabinets, if you can find it. Birch/alder will be more money and maple prices are all over, depending on variety. |

| I vote for poplar as well. |

| MDF is also ok for painted cabinet if budget is an issue. |
