We are staining our new Douglas Fir front doors and all was going so well we were bound to hit a snag. We stained one side of the door and sides. After drying, flipped the door over and saw where the stain had migrated to the other side (we thought we were being very careful but obviously not enough).

We went ahead and stained that side anyway thinking the stray stain might blend in but it is still very noticeable. How would you go about fixing? The panel that the stray stain is on is lighter than the other panels so would adding a second coat to that panel only help?

The door has had one coat of wood conditioner and one coat of stain.
