I am making a coffee table which can also lift to
table height of 29 inches and lift toward you so you
can eat at table height.Does anyone have experience with this and where I can buy the spring mechanism to fit inside
the table to support the top.
All sugggestions appreciated.

I've not made one, but I've repaired a couple. Below is a source of hardware.

I have seen them where the entire top lifts up and where only the middle half lifts up and the ends remain at cocktail table height. The base is just a table without a fixed top, but they have all had a dust panel on the bottom (so once you lift the top, you can't just see down to the floor). The ones that have ends fixed have drawers underneath that part of the table.

Here is a link that might be useful: Spring lift
