Source for wood appliques?

Posted by Sue36 (My Page) on

I am looking for some wood appliques to put on chairs and above my front door. Specificaly, I am looking for a scallop shell with one side carved and the other side flat. Does anyone have a source for these things? I know I have seen them before, but now I cannot remember where. Thanks.

Try www.outwater.com or 1-800-631-8375. They have a huge catalog - including wood appliques, moldings etc

Thanks for those sources. I checked them out and none have a realistic (rather than stylized) version of a scallop shell. If you know if any other sources, I would appreciate it.

This is what I am looking for.

Here is a link that might be useful: Shell Applique

Sue,

I can't really help you but I would also suggest double posting this question on the Home Decorating Forum. Some of them don't read this one, and there are lot's of decorating gurus there that do this type of thing also.

Oddly of all places, I saw some decorative wood appliques at Joann's Fabrics the other day. Not sure I saw any shells, I just remember being suprised to see them in there way back in the wood craft department.

This is sooo late but I saw one at Inviting Home (www.invitinghome.com) listed under Rosettes called Providence Shell Wood Carving - OY4
