Looks Iike I really screwed this one up!

I decided to paint an old dresser that had been previously stained. I usually sand down the piece, but decided to take a shortcut and not sand this one 0 I know, I know...bad idea. So, I painted and then taped off using painters tape sections to add decorative detail (the painted bead detail). When I pulled up the tape, the paint came with it. Is this because of I didn't sand the piece or the humidity, which is really high right now. By the way, the paint used was an interior latex paint.

Primer is designed to bone with a surface and provide a surface to which paint will stick. Paint on a finished surface will be a layer of color, not paint.

BIN primer can be applied to your dresser without sanding---it is a shellac based primer designed to stick to almost anything.

Or sand off the remaining paint/finish and prime with any primer.
