Faded hardwood flooring

Posted by mzdee (My Page) on

The hardwood floors in my newly purchased house have faded. Floors that were under area rugs are a different shade that surrounding floor area. Other than that, the floors are in really good shape.

I am so hoping that refinishing is not the only answer cuz my budget won't hear of it for at least another year or 2.

Help me if you can.

RE: Faded hardwood flooring

Some woods will fade in sunlight, other species of wood will darken with exposure. Virtually all will change color. This is natural, and exposure to light for those areas which were formerly covered will bring them back in line. Relax and enjoy the color and beauty of your wood.
