Recommendation for Lathe instruction

Posted by catbert1 (My Page) on

I am looking for a book on how to use a Lathe. I know nothing about them, though I am an experienced wood worker. I just bought a Copy Lathe used, with no manual. Yes, my wife is upset; there is no more room in the Garage. Now I gotta find out how to use it to prove that it is really worth her car sitting outside in exchange for all the cool stuff I can make her!

So WHO makes/made the lathe (brand)?

RE: Recommendation for Lathe instruction

Is there a Woodcraft store in or near your town? They usually have classes for different tools---the lathe is a popular class.

See if there's a local affiliate of American Association of Woodturners (or the equivalent in your country).

Around here, the local chapter has lots of people who will take you under their wing, offer classes, or one-on-one tutorials in turning.

Join and get to know the people a bit.
