Repainting white laquered cabinets - what paint is best?

We had our kitchen custom installed and we had BM Simply White painted on. The cabinet maker used a BM colour match in a laquer paint. They have a hard semi gloss finish to them which i like (besides the chipping), however they are turning yellow.
It has been just over a year. We have contacted him and he is coming back to pickup the cabinet uppers on Tuesday and said he will repaint them.

So i am informed on my end, what type of paint should i expect? He said he will repaint them without a clear coat over top. What does this mean for maintenance and protection?
I want a nice glossy finish that is easy to clean and I have read on other posts about SW Proclassic waterborne acrylic enamel and the BM impervo. Based on the fact that the first time he screwed up, should i have any suggestions to get the look i want without my white going yellow?

thanks.
