Need help with stain for maple cabinets

We are having our kitchen cabs refaced with 'select maple' (that's how it's listed at the place where our refacer buys the doors/drawer fronts).

He really prefers to use Minwax (NOT the Gel - he doesn't like it).

I'm trying to go for a honey maple or toffee color (not too red or orange)and not the really light natural maple. Any suggestions on what/how to achieve that? Anyone have experience with Minwax brand?

Maybe your guy knows what he's doing, but Minwax would not be my first choice for maple. It's a difficult wood to stain well with pigment stains as most Minwax stains are.
