'scissor' hinges for mirror?

I'm not sure where to post this but I figure woodworking people must know about hinges. I think these must exist but I don't know what to call them.

I would like to build a mirror that I could pull out from the wall on the left side of a bathroom sink, and then tilt the angle sideways. I've seen ready made metal ones pull out and retract on zigzag metal bars that look like scissors: but I don't know if they can tilt or swivel after pulling out. I am making a mission style bathroom and want a wood framed mirror, not the metal-framed ones. Where can I find hinges or scissor bars like these that I can mount to a wood mirror? Or would it be too heavy for these?

I've been woodworking a long time, and I can't recall seeing this type of mechanism sold anywhere. I think your best bet is to buy a good quality metal-framed mirror and then separate it from the scissors device. However, I also think you're correct that weight will be a problem with a wood frame mounted to the mechanism.

did you ever find scissor hinges for your mirror project?

i'm now trying to do a similar thing and turning up nothing with google. i even thought about making my own, big and clunky, out of 1/2 baltic birch, but hope i don't have to get that desperate.

Yes, that was the concept. Couldn't figure out how to make it work stylistically in my mission bathroom, though, so abandoned the idea and finished the room without.
