Need someone to build skinny CD cabinet

Posted by linnea56 (My Page) on

I need to have 2 skinny CD cabinets made to fit a space. I was planning to do it this winter, but that job is way down the list. Especially since I don’t have a power saw and would be cutting it all out by hand. I made a library last winter with Ikea Billy bookshelves and have 2 narrow spaces to fill, about 7 inches wide and waist high. Technically I would put small decorative objects on the shelves, not CDs, but calling it a "CD shelf" gives an easy visual. I have hunted for ready made ones but they are all too wide.

This job is too small for a pro to be interested in. But it would be a good quickie job for a retiree or a handy person.

How do I find someone to do something like this? I can do the finishing myself. I'm in the NW suburbs of Chicago. Thanks for any leads.

Ask around at some of the local woodworking stores (Rockler, Woodcraft, etc.) They often know people who can do these jobs.
