I have looked high and low for some basic plans or guidelines for making a floatable toy boat. The web, the library. The ebay plans look poor. (This is a project I wanted to work on with my son.) I would like to have some idea of what I am up against. I had planned to create this from a log, rough cut it and shape it. I have some chuncks of black walnut but appears most folks use cedar presumably due to its rot resistance. I am really in need of some direction.

Any tips or tricks for anyone that has done this before?
