I suppose you could, if you are willing to risk the wrath of someone somewhere down the line saying, "Who in the heck thought it was a good idea to glue these baseboards on!!? Now we have to redo the drywall."

I frequently curse the people who've done stuff like this before me. Such as, "You are hereby condemned to an eternity of pulling off baseboards put on with liquid nails -- there is a special room in Hell for you !"

In other words, there are benefits to being "reversible" and "repairable."

I would definitely nail it...it's the "right" way to do it.

As others have mentioned, future owners might be upset with you (or you might be upset with yourself a few years down the road). Also, given that walls are rarely flat, I'm not sure how you'd clamp the baseboard tight against the wall while the adhesive sets up.

Filling a few nail holes really isn't that complicated or difficult. While you might notice any imperfection left by nailing initially, it they will quickly fade from view and none of your guests will spend much time looking at the baseboard in a bathroom.
