Connecting two junction boxes

This might be something very simple, but I could not find how I can do it:

There are two existing junction boxes, each has a side dimension of 16 inches facing each other at a distance of 7 inches. I want to add a 1.5" EMT between these two junction boxes. I can open the knock-outs and make it ready to install the conduit, but the problem is that the conduit would not fit in there with the male connectors attached. Is there a male connector for EMT that can slide back onto the pipe to allow me to install it ? Or is there any other way I can use?

Thanks!
