City Permit for Recessed and Vanity Lights

We are planning on remodeling our home and part of the project includes adding recessed lights in a first floor room of a two story home, recessed lights in an upstairs master bedroom that has attic access, and vanity lights over two sinks in the master bathroom. We initially planned on getting city permits for the electrical work, but now I'm starting to worry if the inspector will look around the house for other issues. We're not the first home owners so I don't know if some of the upgrades, like an outdoor patio, have been properly permitted.

I was hoping to get some feedback from everyone opinion and any similar experience you may have gone through.
