| We just had a small vent free gas fireplace installed in our home and would like to connect a remote control. The unit is a really basic model, and you must remove a lower panel to access the on/off switch (pain). There is a receptacle inside the fireplace itself (beside the on/off switch) for plugging in a remote so I could purchase one that doesn't require replacing batteries. The fireplace unit is a corner style, and there is a regular outlet on the wall within 1 foot of the spot on the side of the firplace where the punchouts for electrical connection are located. I just want to be sure I am doing the most secure and safe method of connection when I run a wire from the wall to the fireplace. Can anyone walk me through the steps and materials needed? |
