receptacle/outlet question...help!

we gutted the kitchen, had an electrician run the outlets and now my husband has put the drywall up. It seems like the receptacles are not going to be out enough to accommodate the 3/4" used brick we will put on the walls. I M AFRAID the outlets will be recessed. Is this even code, if they are? And is there anything we can do now before its too late? The blue just barely edges outside the drywall. I am really nervous and we cannot return the brick as it was special order.

No big deal, go buy some box extenders. For your boxes they will be a shallow blue box that has no back on it. It goes between the box and the outlet. A company called Arlington also has a nice plastic one that is white that is adjustable to the set back by how far it protrudes into the box. The blue ones will be readily available but are limited to the depth they come it (you could saw them off to make them shallower though)

"I M AFRAID the outlets will be recessed. Is this even code, if they are?" It is against code for the front edge of a box to be more than 1/8 inch behind the finished surface in a nonflammable material. In a flammable material it must be flush with the surface. Use box extensions.
