No. The conduit itself must be bonded. There are bonding bushings to serve this purpose. They are bushings with a lug on the side to accept a wire.

IMO if the metallic conduit originates from a grounded/bonded source it is adequately bonded provided all the fittings are properly tightened.

I've google'd on bonding bushing but didn't find anything that looked like it was made for metallic conduit to enter a plastic box. I have a picture in my mind based on your description, but if you could direct me to a pic of the busing, I'd sure appreciate it.
