changing pull switch light to a wall switch

i am remodeling my basement. i have ceiling lights with pull switches. i want to convert these to wall switch controlled. i am unsure of the proper wiring required for doing such a job.i know i need to chage out the ceiling fixture. what wiring needs to be running to the wall switch.

You need to run a cable from the existing fixture box to the new location of the switch. You don't even need to change the fixture if you leave the fixture switch always on.

The wiring will look like this.
