| how can I connect the old chandelier to the modern box? There is a chain with a nut at the end, the cord runs thru the chain and out thru the nut at the end. Inside the nut is a recess for a nipple to connect. But I can find no way to have the chandelier supported from the box above. Does anyone know what is missing in this picture? I would be *most grateful* for information on this matter.

| Try looking at a ceiling fan connection... |

| "Inside the nut is a recess for a nipple to connect. You need an adapter that has female thread to attach to the nipple and another female thread for the chandelier. If the big box store does not have it, a real electrical supply house does. |
