timer installation

Posted by ronaldo45 (My Page) on

I have a timer with 5 wires, blue, black, red, white and green. I am replacing one of the light switches in the box to control the outside light. The box has only 2 wires red (hot) and blue. How do I correctly connect the timer to control my light?

RE: timer installation

Absent a white wire (Neutral) you can't use that timer in that location. Most likely you will need to find one that either is entirely mechanical or has an internal battery to power the timer part.
