LED recessed lights interfering with ceiling fan operation

We recently had LED recessed lights installed in a room with an existing 4-light ceiling fan. Almost immediately afterwards, discovered that the fan and its lights now spontaneously come on, apparently switching back and forth between fan speeds and lights on/off when the LED recessed lights are on.
The LED lights are on a single pole LED dimmer. The switch that now controls the dimmer used to control an nearby outlet that, since the installation of the LED lights, is now permanently hot. The ceiling fan is hardwired and controlled by either the its pull chain or a remote. I don't know why there should be any interference. We never had this problem with the previous (incandescent) lights.
Does anyone know why this would occur and what should be done to remedy the situation? The electricians who installed the lighting have not been able/willing to provide a remedy. What should be done and who is should be responsible for any costs involved?
Many thanks for any information you can provide.
Stephanie
