One more thing to try. Forcefully move each breaker to the OFF position and then back ON.
Having tried the things that you feel confident tackling, it is time to call an electrician.

If you have something to test with, look for power at the switch, and fixture wires. By any chance did you just connect all the black and white wires together?

What happened was going to look in the attic, but the light would not come on. He went to check the light bulb and noticed that the fixture was broken and hanging down I believe he said. It was fine in the past. The past person up there was doing a yearly inspection. So that company replaced the fixture. He is not an electrician, but I guess he knows enough to feel comfortable doing what he did. Not sure what wires he hooked up. I haven't been up there.

Did somebody from some kind of inspection company do some electrical work in your house without having any qualifications?!?
I'd suggest that you make them hire an electrician to fix the damage that they did!
