Help with Broken Lamp Post

nora_54

One of us backed into our metal lamp post light and it broke off underground. This is what we see after digging the sod/dirt out from around the base: about 12" diameter circular area of concrete approximately 10-12 inches below soil level; 3-4 inches of the broken metal post sticking out above the concrete (no metal base, just the post); the wiring (also coming out of the concrete) 4-6 inches away from that. We are reasonable handy, but can't figure out if there is an easier way to replace the metal post other than to break up the concrete and start over? The wiring wasn't affected and the light was still working. We are electing to replace the light fixture since it is outdated and were planning to do that soon, anyway.
