Box fill and extenders

A different thread about combination devices set me to wondering...

If you use a box extender, I should think that would add to the overall volume and the box fill. With 1 1/4 granite, the extender has a volume of about 10 cu inches.

Thoughts?

An extended does add capacity. The manufacturer's literature should give you that information if it's not stamped on the extender.
