It's not too uncommon to have different outlets in different rooms on the same circuit. It's possible that a connection came loose somewhere in this one circuit that serves all these affected locations, after verifying the power really is off, I'd start looking at the receptacle that the AC was plugged into.

While it's unlikely with outlets in random bedrooms, look to see if there's a GFCI tripped somewhere if you've already assured yourself that all the breakers are reset.

Multiple simultaneous failures are relatively rare but entirely possible. Be sure to be alert for things that look blackened or that have odd odors while searching for the cause of the problem.

Thank you ronnatalie!! There was one GFCI that needed to be reset in the basement! I guess our newly installed water softener tripped it! Saved us hiring an electrician! :D

Well, anything on the load side of the GFCI could have tripped it. The water softner, the AC unit, or anything else in between.

While the code doesn't preclude random receptacles from being connected to the load (protected) side of the GFCI, it doesn't require most of those locations to have them. If you can assure yourself that no bathrooms, kitchen countertop, garage, unfinished basement, near sink, etc... are on the protected side, you can rewire so only the basement receptacle is on the GFCI and put everything else on the line side.

Perhaps the GFCI was installed to permit installation of 3-prong receptacles with ungrounded branch circuits.
I was called once to a house where most of the branch circuits were dead. Turns out that the folks had just moved in and in the process of cleaning and moving had hit the test button on the receptacle GFCIs which had been retrofitted to the house. And most of those were hard to find due to furniture placement.
