The traditional product for this use is called bell wire staples. They have a cardboard-like insulator which protects the wire. You drive them in with a hammer.

Pick the width of cable staples you need.

There are even staple guns in a couple different sizes designed for fastening cables in place (they work on smaller cables line LAN, alarm, and speaker).
