| Hi all. Having new heat pump installed. Air handler has 5kw heat strips. Distance from unit to service panel 90'. What size wire will I need? Thanks |

| Well, heat pump is not quite enough information to even begin to help you. Yeah, 5kW of heat tells us something, but what about the air handler? Also, what about the outside unit (condenser)? You need to provide all the electrical information on both units before anyone can even guess. A heat pump is two units; inside air handler and the outside compressor. You are replacing both units? |

| Usually, the installation instructions provided with the unit will have the information you need. If you don't have the manual (maybe because the HP hasn't been delivered yet), try downloading it from the manufacturer's website. |
