Vintage tole chandelier -- rewiring?

Posted by jenny_indiana (My Page) on

I purchased a vintage toleware chandelier this weekend. I was so excited to find it!

It has 2 wires. They are marked 105 C F.M.V. Milano. There does not seem to be a ground. How do I know if it needs to be rewired? I don't know the age, but it is very similar to this:

Thanks for your help!

If it has metal enclosing wires it should be grounded.

Not hard to do usually.

If the insulation is not brittle, dry, or cracking it is probably fine.
