| I have a spot in my new appartment where I want to have a 3-way table lamp, but after 3 different brand new lamps that started working fine for a day or two then it seems like the lamp fixture breaks and it goes into one light setting, "the medium intensity" I first thought I was getting defective lamps, with 3-way broken fixtures but now I think there maybe a problem with the outlet... Please Help!!! Any ideas? |

| The quality of 3-way sockets has gotten so bad they rarely last very long beofre failing. ZThe lack of spring tension on the ring contasct on the bulb base does not help things. The biulb has to be screwed in a thight to get a decent connection it smashes the center contact flat so it no longer works correctly. I have changed to using a dimming socket (arund $12) and 150 W halogen A-bulbs. |
