After installing programmable thermometer ...

... my Air conditioner won't work!

I installed a programmable thermometer during the winter and the heat worked just fine. When the summer arrived, I set the thermometer on "cool" and it clicked but the air conditioning unit didn't turn on. I double checked the wiring and even reversed the R and Rc connections but no luck ...

Anyone seen this problem before?

Your identical post on the HVAC forum has been answered.

Here is a link that might be useful: HVAC forum.

Why would I need a link to a forum I've clearly been to already?

Frankly, based on your confusion of a programmable thermostat with a "thermometer", I felt that you needed a little more help than average.

lol ... touche. 2 things:

1. Clearly, this isn't my expertise ... which is why I asked a question on here. Also, thx for pointing out an obvious mistake, hope you feel better!

2. After responding to your 1st post, I checked the forum rules and saw the instructions re: double posts to multiple forums, so I apologize to the Forum for the double post ... I didn't know in which forum to post. I wouldn't have been offended if you'd have just said, "hey, you shouldn't double post" rather than the way you chose to.

I feel much better, and you probably do too. Your trouble was diagnosed and fixed quickly and you also now realize that double posting is frowned on.

In fact, the link was intended for the benefit of others here who might have been interested in the fix, but your sharp reply combined with a glaring mistake left too much room for a shot. You know what they say about glass houses.
