Hello:

I want to install an electrical outlet next to a warming drawer. The wiring, Romex, must pass over the top of the drawer.

What does the Code say about this? Can I just run the Romex without any covering or must it be in conduit? My concern is that the drawer gets warm and may affect the Romex somehow.

The temperature inside the drawer may go to 220 deg F. I have no idea what the outside temp would be. I will turn the drawer on and try to get an idea of the external temperature.
