Light Fixture Bulb Wattage Q

If a light fixture specifies a maximum 60W incandescent bulb, does that mean that I can use up to 60W compact flourescent?

Of course, that would be too bright. I was thinking maybe a 20W CF, which gives the light of a 75W I.

You can go up to 60 REAL watts not the bogus equivalent watts that the CFL's lie about on the packaging. 20W CF would be fine.
