Hardwiring plugable LED drivers

Can I cut the plug and hardwire the LED driver. The connections will be placed in a junction box. I have seen hardwired drivers and they too seem to have the same except that they dont have the plug. I would like to do everything according to the code. Thanks

RE: Hardwiring plugable LED drivers

The device must be 'listed' by a testing lab as suitable for hard wiring.

You should ask the manufacturer if they have such a listing.

Cord and plug connected equipment does not have to comply with many provisions of the electric code that permanently connected equipment must comply with.

Minimum wire sizes is one of the requirements.
The conductor must be large enough to trip a breaker without melting the wire or insulation.
