Damage to Siding caused by Electrician

I asked my electrician to replace the exterior outlet cover box. He must have screwed the new box into the cedar clapboard siding too tight without predrilling because now I have cracks on either side of the box that weren't there before he did this work.

I think that the siding can be puttied primed and repainted but I don't feel like dong all that work. Would it be fair to tell him that I'm having it professional repaired and I will deduct that cost from his invoice. Or fix it myself and deduct around $50 for my trouble what do you think? I am I expecting too much that my house not be damaged from the electrician's work?
