3 Gang Metal Boxes

Posted by Geoffrey_B (My Page) on

I'm looking for an on-line source of supply for some deep metal boxes and 3 device mud rings ( 1" deep mud ring).

The boxes mount on a wooden stud.

The devices are dimmers and timers and really need space.

RACO is one of the larger makers.

You are asking for a lot though.

RACO operates strangely.

You have to scroll down to see the text on each screen.

Can you use a masonry box?

RE: 3 Gang Metal Boxes

Thanks Brickeyee. I found a 3 device X 1 1/2" mud-ring Raco #836. Looks like it goes on a #942 box.

I need an 1" mud-ring - I guess I'll just set the box back?

None of the gang boxes I've seen have any bracket to attach to a stud. How do you do it?

Man - these timers, dimmers and GFI's take up a lot of space!

Keep in mind, some dimmers cannot be side by side with another device depending on the heat sink on the switch.
