| My house was built in 1950. All of the outlets above the kitchen counter were switched to GFCI's before I bought the house, but there is an outlet below the sink (for the garbage disposal) that is still the original 1950's outlet. I am getting ready for a kitchen remodel and I wonder if this outlet should also be a GFCI? If not, since it is so old, should I have it replaced as along as the elctrician is out here doing other work?

| NO, it does not need to be GFI protected. Yes, you should replace the receptacle if it is that old. |
