I live in a somewhat remote area of Canada and we tend to loose power once and awhile, so it would be good to get a generator that could power a couple appliances during the outages (fridge...etc.).

I also work out in my shed sometimes so it would be nice to get a smaller / portable generator that I could use out there as well. Preferably something not too noisy! (...if those exist...)

Any suggestions would be helpful! Not exactly sure what to look for. Is there any sort of chart that compares generators and displays their features? I haven't come across anything like that yet...
