Generator load balancing

Hi All,

Now that I have my generator hooked up via interlock, I have been looking at the watt meters I installed on each of the hot legs to ensure everything is balanced.

Now, obviously the load balance will shift dependent on what is powered up at any given time. What would be considered a normal range of difference between the two legs on a 10kw, 12.5 kw surge, Honda diesel genset.

As long as each leg is under the maximum supported it is OK...obviously is one side is greatly underutilized you're wasting capacity.

Do you really have a 770? Those are way cool.

You answered my question also. But to be sure, my 12KW generator would be okay at anything at or below 6000 watts per leg, ie 5000 and 3000 would be oka.
