| I updated a previous post with a link regarding a pop-up counter outlet that does meet NEMA guidelines for the 4' requirement.
http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/wiring/msg0201072823287.html?12 Box is made by LEW:
I will be tapping into a GFI wall outlet at a wall (end of the counter), running my wiring behind the first cabinet and then physically attached on the underside of a section of open counter (breakfast bar) to reach the pop-up fixture This site that offers the pop-up box online has instructions posted with the box--instructions mention conduit for install. My question is, would armored cable attached on the underside of the counter meet code, or? Cheers |

| I assume you mean NEC not NEMA. Unless your local jurisdiction has additional requirements, armored cable is not required unless there is some possibility of physical damage. |
