Ceiling Fan Light Switch

The light switch (pull cord) on my ceiling fan died (two wire pull cord) I stupidly undid wire bundles to remove the switch as opposed to cutting wires on old switch, now I am confused as to what wires go where. The lead wires come down through the motor housing (one black, hot and one white neutral). The light sockets have two wires each, (one black and one white). The switch has two black wires and I assume that I hook the hot wire to one black wire on switch, and hook the other black wire on switch to bundled black wires from light sockets. The same with the white wire , it would hook to the bundled white wires from light sockets. Am I correct. The fan runs and it has its' own pull cord switch.
