6 gauge wiring thru floor joists (qty)

I am currently preparing a wiring project for a Tankless On-demand Water Heater which requires (2) 60 amp 220 volt circuits with 6 gauge wiring. I ran both lines thru the same holes in the floor joists for about 20 feet. Both lines fit, however it was tight. Is this safe or should I bore another series of holes and run each line seperately.

You actually don't have to run 6-2 cable through holes at all if you want. But as far as running them through bored holes, it's just a matter of having them fit. You can use oversize holes (to the limits of structural integrity) or multiple holes as is convenient to you.
