Placement of Wall Sconce Switch

I just had a thread about attic wiring when installing hardwired smoke detectors. While I'm doing that I'll also be running wires for two wall sconces for the living room.

Question is: The box for the left hand sconce will about 16 inches from an outside corner (right turn into dining area). Do I put the switch directly underneath the sconce or nearer to the corner?

The location of the switch is entirely your choice, limited by the structural members of the building and access to run cable to the switch location.
